Quench Shea Butter Oil All-Over Body Moisturizer Shea Butter Oil is shea butter fractionated into stearin and olein to create shea oil. Shea butter is a slightly greenish natural fat extracted from fruit of the Shea tree by crushing and boiling. Shea butter is known for its cosmetic properties as a moisturizer and emollient and is a known anti-inflammatory agent. Shea butter has also been said to be effective at treating fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, severely dry skin, blemishes, dark spots, skin discolorations, stretch marks, and wrinkles. Shea butter provides natural UV sun protection although the level of protection is extremely variable, ranging from none at all to approximately SPF3, and should not be relied on. Shea oil can be found in very high cosmetic and skin care products and is often used on its own or in lotions, body scrub, and hair oil formulations.
